
Rachel Stevens, Ed.D.
Rachel Stevens, Ed.D.,Chair of the Interdisciplinary Curriculum in practice and Leadership, The University of North Carolina School of Public Health, has extensive experience in home visiting. Dr. Stevens has taught courses on home visiting and done professional development with public health nurses in this area. She has over twenty years of experience in the public health practice at the state and local level and is currently a member of a local board of health as well as a member of the North Carolina Association of Local Boards of Health. Currently, she is Co-Investigator (with Dr. Margolis) of a field trial integrating intense home visits to mothers and children into existing health department maternal and child health programs and linking private clinical cases through office intervention. Dr. Stevens has done extensive consultation with public health nurses across the country. Her current work involves developing a team of public health nurses and early childhood educators for home visits to families with infants and young children.
