Jason Vogler joined the UNC faculty in July 2007 as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He also holds an appointment and spends most of his time as a Psychologist on the Community Transition Unit at Central Regional Hospital-Butner Campus in Butner, NC. Dr. Vogler's work focuses on the treatment of schizophrenia and serious mental illness.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Vogler trained under the mentorship of William D. Spaulding, Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Dr. Vogler's research interests include comprehensive biopsychosocial rehabilitation and clinical psychopharmacology. His research has examined the psychological implications of psychopharmacology, prescribers' clinical decision-making, psychosocial rehabilitation outcomes, patient satisfaction with treatment, and patient adherence with psychotropic medications. He also has research interests in specialized affirmative psychotherapy with LGBT populations.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING & BACKGROUND
Dr. Vogler is trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and specialized behavioral treatment for serious mental illness. Broadly, his clinical training includes the treatment of adults diagnosed with serious mental illness, treatment of personality disorders,
clinical management of suicidal and self-injurious behaviors, and clinical risk
management. He has expertise in the assessment and treatment of serious mental illness and in program development for serious mental illness.
Some specific areas of professional interest include public mental health policy, mental health reform, mental health service systems, and the provision and implementation of evidence-based treatments for serious mental illness. |
