Hello, my name is Sarah Batey and I'm a second year graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I graduated from UNC with a B.S. in Mathematics in December of 1999 and took a job with the Procter & Gamble Co. in one of its large research facilities north of Cincinnati, OH. During my year and a half stint with the company, I served largely in the capacity of a programmer and report writer and conducted some simple statistical analyses.

I am delighted to be back in Chapel Hill and especially to be affiliated with the University once again. I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Applied Math and will be working under the guidance of David Adalsteinsson. Spring 2003 I am teaching a MWF section of Math 31: Calculus of One Variable I and will hold office hours Tuesday 2-3:30 and Thursday 3-4:30. My office is in Phillips Hall room 414 and, when there, I can be reached at 962-5752. I can always be reached via email which is sm_batey@unc.edu.

I enjoy taking pictures in my spare time. Click HERE to see photographs of my family, friends and fellow graduate students.

I also enjoy cooking. Click HERE to see some of my favorite easy recipes.
