House of Dreams

City: Mozumi/Toyama The house of dreams - yumeyakata - was in years past the local brothel for miners living in kamioka/mozumi. Recently though it has been converted into a civic center of sorts, which can be rented out for gatherings and such. One of the locals, and friend to the KamLAND collaboration rented it out for a going away party - pictures are on this site as well. Anyhow it is just a typical traditional japanese house.

City: Mozumi/Toyama The office at mozumi - where the experiment is remotely monitored - is about 10km from the actual experiment and is in the former mozumi post office building.

Dorms

City: Mozumi/Toyama This is the dormotory about 200m down from the office. This is where emma stayed when she came to japan. Its basically a typical hotel on the inside, but it has a great kitchen where they serve you traditional meals. I ate several of emma's. Some might wonder about the need for such a structure in the city of mozumi. I suspect it is there to house miners temporarily, and with the existence of the SuperKamiokande experiment in the same mine as KamLAND, it probably houses a lot of they personal while on shift. I think the SuperK collaboration is significantly larger that the KamLAND collaboration.
