If you thought gasoline was expensive in the U.S., here are the rates for japan. Regyura - 93 yen, Haioku - 103 yen, and diesel 73 yen. Just remeber that those are per liter!

Inside The Legacy [ index| x001001 , 150902 ]

City: Mozumi/Toyama

Thats right, the wheel really was on the right of the car, and the stickshift functioned in exactly the same way. Even the footpedals were arranged in the usual, clutch, brake, gas. You can almost see however, on the wheel the blinker and the wipers have been switched relative to left handed vehicles.

City: Mozumi/Toyama

From left, Giorgio Gratta, Naoko (the party's guest of honor), Evgueni, Suekanesan, Maedasan - just a bunch of KamLAND collaborators. Note how the grill is recessed into the tatami floor, and is loaded with tasty vittles!

Grill Monkey [ index| x010011 , 150902 ]

Well not a monkey, but a monk, who was very funny - though he didnt speak much english, and was also in charge of the grilling.

More People [ index| x010011 , 150902 ]

Unfortunately I know only the people on the left and right. The blonde haired (japanese) woman is katsuko, who is in her 50's i believe and has had her hair that color since she was 17 or so. On the far right is Mingjun Chen, a KamLAND collaborator.

Drink Machines [ index| x000011 , 150904 ]

City: Mozumi/Toyama

Found everywhere in japan dispensing a wide variety of beverages. Actually it used to be that you could buy beer from machines like these but I am told that a law was recently passed prohibiting such things to prevent minors (under 20) from buying alchohol. They can still do it actually at grocery stores though if inclined. Also there was some recent news detailing a japanese gang who ripped off 600,000 dollars equivalent from machines just like this. Taken aside the highway in mozumi.

Never Play in the Fire Cistern [ index| x000001 , 150905 ]

City: Mozumi/Toyama

This sign warns of death, and asks children not to enter accordingly. I thought the dragon was sort of interesting on it. When the bomb was dropped at hiroshima a number of people were found dead in fire cisterns after jumping in to cool their skin after the flash.
