No, there wasnt really gambling, I just thought it funny that the machines looked so much like slot machines although I dont think you can do this of gambling in japan. Pachinko is the lifeblood of the japanese gambler.

This school, as you can sort of see, was located in the heart of the city, right by the shopping distric.

This is just looking down into the entrance of the shopping arcade. Every, and i do mean every, city in japan has an arctade identical to this. Typically its just a large two story covered, and tiled street flanked by sarding pacaged retail stores.
