Big Spider

City: Mozumi/Toyama I regret not having the courage to get close enough to this thing to get something in the picture to give some scale, but this thing was pretty big, and brightly colored - which I think means 'stay away' in nature. Really the more interesting thing about this spider is that they are communal, several times I saw 3 or 4 of them living together on the same web - rare in the spider world..
