Jews and Judaism in the Age of the Talmud

    This course was first taught as part of the Adult Education Academy at Temple Emanu-El in Tucson, AZ, in January and February of 2007. Because the class was only five lectures, it was meant as a very broad overview of the topic. The lectures were entitled as follows:

• "Origins of the Rabbinic Movement"
• "Rabbis, the Mishnah, and Miqva'ot"
• "Synagogues of Ancient Palestine"
• "Art and Rabbinic Views"
• "The Ancient Jewish Diaspora"
