Churches, Synagogues, and Temples in the Ancient World
This course was first taught as an adult education class at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Raleigh, NC, in October and November of 2006. Because the class was only three lectures, it was meant as a very broad overview of the topic. The class addressed issues of what it means for architecture to be sacred or holy, and how various structures can express and reflect beliefs and values.
