"Some Devil" is Dave Matthews' first solo release. When writing the songs appearing on "Some Devil," Matthews didn't even know he was going to record an album. He was simply planning on returning to the songs later with the rest of the Dave Matthews Band.

The Dave Matthews Band has released five major studio albums, as well as four live releases. Additionally, one album, "Recently," was released as an EP, and another, "Remember Two Things," contains both live and studio recordings. The Dave Matthews Band is one of the most successful touring bands in the world, and has become accustomed to selling out most if not all of the shows on their annual summer tours.
