Chapter History

Delta Delta History

The Delta Delta Chapter at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was re-chartered on April 20, 1996 as the 11th sorority on our campus.

The Delta Delta chapter maintains the traditions of strong character, academic excellence, community service, and lifelong friendships as idealized by our founders.

We are fortunate to have our outstanding houseparents, Sharon and Don Gaddo, who have taken each and every Sigma under their wings.

Tri Sigmas at UNC are active in a diverse group of activities including the Campus Y, Student Government, Order of the Bell Tower, Varsity Athletics and The Daily Tar Heel. National leadership and academic scholarships reward Sigmas for their achievements. Membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Order of Omega, Golden Key and other honor societies reflects our commitment to scholastic excellence.

Our sisterhood also works together on many projects such as Habitat for Humanity; Ronald McDonald House and our national philanthropy, which sponsors play therapy for hospitalized children. Through financial contribution and volunteer hours, Sigmas support Robbie Page Memorial Playroom located at UNC Hospitals.

The time Tri Sigmas spend participating in extracurricular activities, working on volunteer projects, and at social events strengthens our bonds of friendship that make our sisterhood special to each one of us.
