《易經》：

豐。 亨    王假之    勿憂    宜日中
象曰。  雷電皆至    豐     君子以折獄致刑

From Yi Jing :

The Zenith will bring progress. The ruler reaches his Zenith. Do not be anxious, but rather like the sun at midday.

Expanded intelligence (thunder and lightning) forms the conditiion for Zenith. Consequently, the superior man decides lawsuits and carries out punishments.

解。 利西南   無所往  其來復吉   有攸往   夙吉
象曰。  雷雨作  解  君子以赦過宥罪

From Yi Jing:

Liberation. There is an advantage in the southwest (responsiveness). When there is nothing to gain in going forward, a return to normal conditions brings good fortune. If there is still something to achieve, hastening brings good fortune.

Profound activity (rain and thunder) sets in forming the condition for liberation. Consequently, the superior man pardons the faults of others and forgives their misdeeds.
