That’s right! I was once a chemistry major, attending classes
at the dreaded Venable Hall. I was also a freshman who lived in south
campus at Hinton James and ate at Chase. How foolish was I back then.
Hi, my name is Yu Hsien Ho. People who know me
well know me as Yush, people who know me know me as Yu or Yu-Hsien,
and people who don’t know me don’t know my name. I created
this site as an opportunity to learn more about website designing. Although
I have had some design experiences in the past, but never had any experience
with HTML. I had someone else do that for me, all I had to do was design
a layout in Photoshop. I am a junior JOMC-advertising major and an English
minor. My dream is to eventually become a writer (novelist, poet, or
screenwriter), while owning another my own small business on the side.
Why didn't you just pursue an English Major if
you wanted to become a writer? First of all, my grammar is bad. I know,
that’s something I can fix, but I wanted to write the way I want
to write, without any restrictions. I guess that's why I like poetry
so much. Second, I think learning about advertising and our consumer
culture gives me a different perspective than most other writers who
come out of as English major. Anyone can be an English major and be
a writer, but can “I” be an Advertising major and come out
a successful writer? That is yet to be seen.
