FAQ

This page is intended to give you some background information on GeologicalSociety.com. If there is a specific question you would like to see listed here, please let Doc know!

Who is Doc?
Doc is a rockhound from North Carolina who started this website as a place for fellow geologists to talk and learn more about their fields.

When was GeologicalSociety.com founded?
The website was first launched in the fall of 2000, though the original group of members had been talking over email for some time before that.

Why should I register?
If you enjoy the site, become a member so the rest of the group can get to know you. You will also have the option of being added to our mailing list so you can keep up with happenings at the site such as updates and lines of discussion.

Do I have to register separately at the discussion forum too?
The discussion forum is hosted independently from the main site by ezboard, and requires separate registration. Registering with ezboard is optional; however, doing so gives you a unique username and identity on the boards that you may want to take advantage of. It's up to you.

How can I get my site listed in your one of your links categories?
Contact Doc at DocsRocs1@aol.com regarding additions to any section of the site.
