Carolina’s Outdoor Education Center is helping students get out, exercise and breathe in some fresh air.

The 67-acre Outdoor Education Center, which UNC Campus Recreation maintains, is mostly green space and is “an awesome opportunity to step away from the hustle and bustle of the busy campus,” says David Rogers, director of the center.

The on-campus center includes an 18-hole disc golf course, multiple tennis and volleyball courts, hiking trails and a high and low ropes challenge course. While students can head out to the center and use the grounds without a reservation, the Outdoor Education Center also offers events and programming.

“The Outdoor Education Center is cool because you get to do something out of your comfort zone, try something new and meet other students that want to do the same,” says Carolina junior Cara Kuuskvere.
