When his young son had an allergic reaction to peanut butter, Dr. Edwin Kim changed his focus to research, searching for treatments to protect other kids against severe allergic reactions to peanuts.
Dr. Edwin Kim, director of the UNC Food Allergy Initiative and member of the UNC Children’s Research Institute, conducts research on treatments to protect kids against severe allergic reactions to peanuts. This includes his own children, one of who is allergic to peanuts and another to cashews.
