Five years ago, at New Student Convocation, the Class of 2020 was challenged to determine what the class would stand for and how the students would make an impact on the community.
Though their college experience was a bit different than what anybody could have expected when they arrived as first-year students in 2016, the Class of 2020 succeeded in leaving its heelprint at Carolina and beyond. Even in the most difficult of times, they showed what it means to be a Tar Heel.
Ahead of the Class of 2020’s long-awaited Commencement ceremony this weekend, Roy Williams reflects on the class’ journey and welcomes the Tar Heels home.
