Obie Award-winning theatermakers 600 HIGHWAYMEN return to Carolina Performing Arts for A Thousand Ways (Part Two): An Encounter after a sold-out run of Part One: A Phone Call this spring.
An exhilarating experience that challenges the very definition of theater, A Thousand Ways is a three-part performance in which you are the actor and you are the audience. Taking place over several months, each distinct installment presents a new chance at making contact with a stranger. In Part Two: An Encounter, you’ll meet someone face-to-face for an illuminating experience guided by written prompts.
How to Participate
Tickets are required for Part Two: An Encounter. To participate: choose your preferred date and time, register for a ticket, and mark it on your calendar.
At your ticketed day and time, you’ll meet your partner, a stranger to you, at CURRENT ArtSpace + Studio. You won’t know who they are before the event, but through this exchange —as you follow a thread of written prompts—a portrait of your partner will emerge. Check out the A Thousand Ways FAQfor more details.
In early 2022, you’ll be invited to join us for the final installment of A Thousand Ways, a gathering of all participants. All phases of this project are ticketed separately.
Recommended for ages 16 and up. Run time approximately 60 minutes. Masks required at all times while inside CPA venues during the 21/22 season. For additional health and safety information and more, visit our general FAQ page.
