THE TALK: Exploring All For NC: Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation’s Framework for its Grantmaking, Learning and Commitment to Racial Equality

The Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all North Carolinians. ZSR is a statewide, private, family foundation that has invested over $580 million and has been a catalyst for positive change in North Carolina for more than 80 years.

In 2016, ZSR undertook a strategic assessment and planning process which included extensive listening and learning. Foundation Trustees and staff reviewed data, convened data experts and grantees, and traveled across North Carolina to better understand various issues impacting the state and its residents. That process led to All For NC, the Foundation’s new framework for grantmaking and learning, that was launched last year and includes a commitment to racial equity. The Foundation’s Executive Director, Maurice “Mo” Green, will share that process, framework and how the Foundation’s commitment to racial equity is unfolding.
