An exhibition of photographs in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room of Wilson Library provides a look at African-American life and culture in a small Mississippi town during the 1970s.
Raleigh native André Leon Gray is a self-trained artist who works in a variety of media to examine the impact of history on present day power structures and social hierarchies. He transforms mundane objects and materials into powerful social commentaries to encourage conversations among his diverse audience.
View photography from around the world in this exhibition featuring work by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill alumni, faculty, staff and students. The exhibition will open January 8 and run through July 10, 2020 at the FedEx Global Education Center. All photography on display was submitted as part of UNC-Chapel Hill’s 20th annual Carolina Global Photography Competition.
