Noted Women’s and Gender studies scholar and activist Beverly Guy-Sheftall will deliver the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s annual African American History Month Lecture on Monday, February 17 at 7 pm in the Sonja Haynes Stone Center Auditorium. Professor Guy-Sheftall is the founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center (1981) and Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
This week we recognize the many contributions graduate and professional students make to research, teaching, and service at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The annual Graduate Student Recognition Celebration recognizes students who receive prestigious fellowships, honors, and awards.
The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony recognizes graduate students receiving their doctoral degrees. Each participating doctoral graduate will be called to the stage to have the hood of the commencement regalia conferred by their adviser or dissertation committee chair. Family and friends, as well as the public, are invited to attend.
