Honoring an icon

Carolina to posthumously honor the iconic ESPN broadcaster Stuart Scott, who was a proud 1987 alumnus.

UNC-Chapel Hill will honor Stuart Scott, iconic ESPN sports broadcaster and 1987 Carolina alumnus, posthumously with an induction October 23 to the N.C. Journalism Hall of Fame, based in the UNC School of Media and Journalism.

Over the course of his career, Scott inspired millions. And as the induction ceremony approaches, we want to hear how he inspired you. Please share your remembrances in words or video on Twitter and use the hashtag #StuHOF15. You can also tag @UNCMJschool in your tweet.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. in Alumni Hall in the University’s George Watts Hill Alumni Center. Featured speakers include UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Carol L. Folt;  journalism alumnus and “Voice of the Tar Heels” Jones Angell, Carolina soccer legend Mia Hamm and UNC School of Media and Journalism Dean Susan King. Tickets are $75, and space is limited.
