Employees honored for state service milestones
An Office of Human Resources webpage celebrates those who marked special anniversaries with Carolina and the state.

As part of State Employee Appreciation Day, Carolina celebrated the milestones of more than 2,000 employees who have dedicated between five and 55 years of service to the University and the state of North Carolina. These include five honorees with 50 years of service and two with 55 years.
50 Year Service Award honorees
William L. Barney, professor, history department, UNC College of Arts and Sciences, posthumously honored
Philip A. Bromberg, Bonner Professor of Medicine, pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine division, UNC School of Medicine
Ann G. Matthysse, professor, biology department, UNC College of Arts and Sciences
Claude Thomas Nuzum, professor, gastroenterology and hepatology division, UNC School of Medicine
Timothy A. Turvey, professor, UNC Adams School of Dentistry
55 Year Service Award honorees
Myra Daniel, Area Health and Education Center and medical student coordinator, psychiatry department, UNC School of Medicine
