Early voting for midterm elections is underway in North Carolina. If you have not voted yet, you are encouraged to take the opportunity to cast a ballot. In North Carolina, early voting runs from Feb. 12 until Feb. 28. The 2026 primary election is Tuesday, March 3.

Participating in elections is one of the simplest things you can do to strengthen our civic life. Getting involved in local institutions is also one of the best ways to contribute your time and energy to solve meaningful challenges. For some of our students, this may be your first opportunity to vote. There’s excellent work happening across Carolina to encourage voter participation and broader civic engagement, and we have more information on what you need.

Whether you vote early or on Election Day, you can find additional information on the North Carolina State Board of Elections website. Please note that you will need a valid form of ID to cast your ballot — which includes the physical UNC One Card. You can find locations, dates, and times to vote on the Orange County website.

Whatever your political beliefs, do your part to learn about people and issues on the ballot, speak up for the causes that matter to you, and cast your vote.
