Students, faculty and staff,

This weekend, the Savannah Bananas will bring their Banana Ball World Tour to Kenan Stadium on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12. The Bananas will take on the Texas Tailgaters, with Saturday activities beginning at 2 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m., and Sunday events beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. Both games are sold out.

We expect these events to draw large crowds, causing a significant increase in traffic volume and drive times in the town and region, as well as limited parking on and around campus. Please be aware of these events if you plan to drive on campus or in the surrounding area this weekend.

In support of Banana Ball, be aware of the following impacts to campus operations:

    • Stadium Drive will be closed beginning Thursday, April 9 at 5 p.m. through Sunday, April 12 at 11:59 p.m.
    • Access to South Road will be restricted beginning Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. through Sunday, April 12 at 7 p.m.
    • Event parking lots will be restricted starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Please plan travel routes in advance and consider using the route suggestions provided for public parking permits. The Tar Heel Express will provide shuttle service from local park and ride lots to the event entrance along South Road. For additional parking and transit information, visit the Transportation and Parking event page.
