We want all Tar Heels to succeed and grow, both in academic classes and outside of them. The University boasts hundreds of student groups and various support services to help make that happen for all students, whether it’s their first year at Carolina or last.

    The Writing Center

    The Writing Center works with students, faculty and staff on any writing project at any point in the writing process, helping them to become more skillful, flexible writers.

    Student Care Hub

    Launched in the spring, the COVID-19 Student Care Hub is a one-stop-shop for guidance and information about resources related to everything from academics to financial aid to wellness.

    The Learning Center

    Open to undergraduate and graduate students, the Learning Center helps Tar Heels improve their academic skills, get better at managing time, and understand their strengths and weakness. The center is offering virtual services this semester.

    University Libraries

    While the ways students can use the libraries are different this fall, the staff is still available to help students achieve their academic goals. Students can also find books, journals and videos online through the University Libraries’ website.

    Academic Advising

    The College of Arts & Sciences' Academic Advising Program creates a supportive environment to partner with undergraduates as they explore personal goals, develop educational plans and thrive at Carolina. Advisors are available for all undergrads in the College.

    FINANCIAL RESOURCES

    The Office of Scholarship and Student Aid is currently awarding emergency grants to students from multiple funds. These awards are intended to help you cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, and covered items such as food, emergency housing, transportation, technology and health care.

    Carolina's Counseling and Psychological Services is strongly committed to addressing the mental health needs of the student body through timely access to consultation and connection to clinically appropriate services.

    Campus Health provides a full spectrum of expert, patient-centered and inclusive ambulatory primary medical care for students, including a full-service radiology, physical therapy and pharmacy service.
