UNC-Chapel Hill is preparing for a second consecutive weekend of winter weather, as snowfall and single-digit temperatures are predicted for Chapel Hill as soon as Friday (Jan. 30) night.
In a campus message, University leaders shared tips and resources to stay safe, including:
- Charge your devices, prepare your batteries and gather your cold-weather gear, including blankets.
- Stock up on ready-to-eat and nonperishable foods such as easy-open canned goods, granola bars, fruit, bottled water, etc., as nearby and on-campus dining hours may be adjusted.
- Ensure you have an adequate supply of prescription medications.
- Bookmark the University Operating Status webpage for the current operating status for key campus resources such as Carolina Dining Services, Transportation and Parking, etc.
If you have not already, sign up for Alert Carolina, our emergency notification system. This is the best way to receive the most up-to-date information and how we will communicate any changes to the campus condition.
