Late night breakfast break

More than 1,500 students took a ride up the escalator to the Top of Lenoir for Carolina Dining Services’ Late Night Breakfast at Lenoir.

Hungry for a study break on April 29th, Carolina students formed a line snaking around the Pit, counting down to 9 p.m. for Carolina Dining Services’ Late Night Breakfast at Lenoir.

More than 1,500 students took a ride up the escalator to the Top of Lenoir to grab a plateful of some of their favorite breakfast foods. From classic favorites like bacon and eggs and blueberry pancakes to a trail mix bar alongside the ever-available salad bar, students were not short on options.

CDS said this tradition is one they look forward to every semester.

And they are glad to see the students love it, as well.

“It’s kind of a celebration at the end of the semester, and we do it every semester on the first or second reading day as a culmination of the year,” said Carolina Dining Services Marketing Coordinator Daniel Heyward. “It’s a way students can relax during the busy time of finals.”

Many students standing in line at the Pit and those meandering around the dining hall agreed the big draw this year was chicken and waffles.

With such a big turnout, CDS said this tasty tradition would be sticking around for years to come.
