Sean Jackson, a UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media graduate and former Carolina lacrosse player, wrote, directed and produced “Race Night, a documentary that explores the culture and community of flat-track motorcycle racing in America's Midwest. It's a professional course he initially set in Chapel Hill.

    Carolina jazz professor Stephen Anderson and his band, the Dominican Jazz Project, overcame many challenges as they worked to record their latest album during a pandemic. The album is now being considered for the Grammy ballot.

    A document recently acquired by the University Libraries is contributing to scholars’ understanding of the life of Omar ibn Said, a 19th-century enslaved Islamic scholar. Said, kidnapped from West Africa and enslaved in North Carolina, was renowned for his Arabic writings.
