COVID-19 update: Plans for the spring 2022 semester

In consultation with the Orange County Health Department, our academic deans and student affairs leaders, we are updating our COVID-19 mitigation strategies to reflect the most recent guidance from the CDC and our infectious disease experts in response to the quickly spreading omicron variant.

    Rachelle Feldman named vice provost for enrollment

    Rachelle has served as the interim vice provost since November 2020 and will begin this role on Jan. 1, 2022. During her tenure, she has developed and implemented significant policy and process improvements in Carolina’s financial aid and enrollment operations that have improved efficiency and better serve our students.

    Chris Clemens named executive vice chancellor and provost

    Chris Clemens, the College of Arts & Sciences' Jaroslav Folda Distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy, will serve as the next executive vice chancellor and provost, effective Feb. 1, 2022. Chief of Staff Amy Locklear Hertel will be moving into a redefined executive vice provost role and Christi Hurt will assume the role of chief of staff to the chancellor.
