On the second floor of the Student Recreation Center are two fitness studios outfitted to keep Tar Heels moving together. The space is home to Campus Rec’s Heel Fit, which offers inclusive, small-group-based training classes that provide a progressive and fun training program.

“It’s a good mix of personal training and group fitness,” said Emily Loefstedt, a student services specialist at Campus Rec. “You get that one-on-one attention from the instructor when it’s needed, and you have a group of people that are there to support you.”

Led by trained coaches, the classes are designed for Tar Heels of all abilities and teach proper technique and form.

“You can come if you’ve never worked out before, you can come if you’ve been working out your whole life,” Loefstedt said. “We just want you to come and have fun and get a good workout.”
