With help from their family and friends, members of the Class of 2026 began moving into campus last week to start their Carolina careers.

As they wheeled in luggage and carried boxes into the residence halls, a few took a short break to share what they are looking forward to in Chapel Hill.

“I’ve been looking forward to this day because it’s just been like a dream of mine since I was little to be a part of the Carolina community,” said E.J. Perry of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Others spoke about becoming more independent, attending campus events and connecting with people they’ve never met.

“I’m excited to move in, to meet new people and make new friends,” said Eliza McRae from Cary, North Carolina.
