Video: Tar Heel sailors teach students the ropes

The UNC-Chapel Hill Sailing Club runs regular beginner clinics and races against other colleges.

The Tar Heel Sailing Club was founded with the goal of making sailing more accessible.

The club offers sail clinics for students who have never been out on the water to learn the ropes. They also compete against other universities throughout the Southeast.

“I have met all of my best friends through sailing, said junior Sydney Alligood, who had never sailed before joining the club. “It has provided me a home away from home at Carolina.”
