Stadium Drive closed to through traffic
The road will be closed due to construction for the nearby Central Campus Athletics Project.
Underground utility work for the Central Campus Athletics Project will require the closure of a portion of Stadium Drive beginning Dec. 18, 2017, through March 1, 2018. During this period, Stadium Drive will be closed to through traffic.
Please drive slowly and with caution, follow detour signs and stay alert to temporary crosswalk locations during this project. Pedestrians should remain alert to changes in traffic patterns and follow signage along Stadium Drive designating pedestrian reroutes.
Chapel Hill Transit will implement detours on the A, NU and U routes beginning Monday, Dec. 18. Bus stops for these routes on Stadium Drive and on South Road at Student Stores and Fetzer Gym will not be served. Visit Chapel Hill Transit for information on alternative stops and route detours.
The Point-to-Point Express will follow a detour schedule when service resumes Jan. 8, 2018.
S4 permit parking will continue to be available on Stadium Drive and can be accessed from the South Road and Ridge Road entrances. Overflow parking for S4 permit holders will be available in the Rams Head Parking Deck on Ridge Road.
