Remembering our military
On Memorial Day, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill remembers the men and women who lost their lives during military service to the country.
The more than 700 Carolina graduates who died in battle or in training accidents during time of war are honored on campus with the Carolina Alumni Memorial in Memory of Those Lost in Military Service, located next to Memorial Hall.
Dedicated in 2007, the memorial’s Book of Names features panels listing names of alumni who died. The General Alumni Association’s online edition of this memorial includes a biographical page for each alumnus listed.
