Dear students,

Today is the first day of remote instruction for all undergraduates for the fall 2020 term. While this isn’t the semester we wanted for you, please remain assured that you will still receive an outstanding education from our expert faculty. We loved having you on campus, but it became clear that we needed to modify our operations to keep you, faculty, staff and the local community safe from the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of our campus and community have been and will remain our top priority.

We are working to make your transition as smooth as possible. One question we have heard a lot pertains to putting in place a “pause” for classroom instruction. Faculty members have the flexibility to adjust individual class sessions during this period of transition provided they make alternate arrangements to meet all learning objectives.

Watch this short video to hear my thoughts on this transition.

Stay vigilant in maintaining our Community Standards and take care of your mental health. We remain Carolina Together and we will have a successful semester.

Sincerely,

Kevin M. Guskiewicz
Chancellor
