Happy first day of classes for fall semester 2022! I hope you can take a moment to watch this video message welcoming you back.
As Tar Heels, you have a wealth of opportunities available to you. Take courses that push you outside your comfort zone. Explore opportunities outside the classroom, from working with our world-class faculty in a research lab to joining a club with a mission that is meaningful for you.
Convocation at the Smith Center last night was an amazing moment for our Class of 2026, and it was great to meet so many students at Fall Fest. I talked at Convocation about becoming part of this community that cares deeply about you and is committed to seeing you succeed. We all play an important role in building and creating that sense of community.
Have a great FDOC and a wonderful semester. I hope to see you at the Old Well today, taking that first sip.
