Crawley and Tanguilig win 2023 NCAA doubles championship

For the second time in three years, members of the North Carolina women’s tennis team have won the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig defeated teammates Reese Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 in the championship match on Saturday afternoon in Orlando.

Over the course of the 2022-23 season, the North Carolina women’s tennis program compiled a perfect 18-0 record at home while winning the program’s first NCAA team national championship, its third NCAA doubles championship and its seventh ITA Indoor national championship.

In individual action during the 2022-23 season, Crawley won the singles championship at both the ITA Women’s All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, and the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego.

The 2022-23 season marks the most successful season in UNC women’s tennis history.
