Lambeth Lecture: “Democracy Beyond Elections: Institutions in Crisis”

The Honorable David Price will present the 14th annual Thomas Willis Lambeth Distinguished Lecture in Public Policy, “Democracy Beyond Elections: Institutions in Crisis,” on Thursday, February 9th, at 5:00 p.m. in Moeser Auditorium in Hill Hall.  It is free and open to the public and will also be live-streamed as a webinar.

David Price represented the Research Triangle area, North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District, for 34 years before retiring in January 2023 (1987-1995 and 1997-2023). A Morehead-Cain Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and mathematics; inspired by the civil rights movement, he then went on to Yale University where he earned a Bachelor of Divinity in 1964 and a Ph.D. in political science in 1969. Before entering Congress, he taught political science and public policy at Duke University and also served as executive director and chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party.
