One of the most exciting times at Carolina each year is Spring Commencement when graduates fill Kenan Stadium in their Carolina Blue caps and gowns. We hope you will make plans now to attend and take note of these important updates.

The Spring Commencement ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Kenan Stadium. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and tickets are not required for graduates or guests.

We have moved to an evening ceremony to provide a more celebratory atmosphere for our graduates and offer families coming from long distances more time to return home on Sunday. The Saturday date also provides us with flexibility to move the ceremony in case of severe weather. If the ceremony is postponed due to inclement weather, it will take place at 9 a.m., Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The Doctoral Hooding ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the Dean E. Smith Center.

Details for school and department ceremonies are posted to the Commencement website. We will add additional information about specific departments and programs as soon as it is available.

Speakers and other Commencement-related information will be announced later. For updates, please visit the Commencement website.
