Internships and experiential learning

Experiential learning is a crucial aspect of a Carolina education. Whether students are participating in internships or in on-campus classes, the hands-on experiences they get provide them with new knowledge in their chosen fields

Over the summer, aspiring archaeologists, teachers, medical researchers, innovators and others participated in experiential learning opportunities across the country.

I always want to know, as in-depth as possible, what I’m getting myself into. I see the summer as the time to be able to really focus on learning more about what I see myself doing in the future. The opportunities that they’re providing are really crucial.

I’ve read all about the archaeology. I’ve taken a lot of archaeology classes. But here, just pulling something out of that dirt, it feels like mining for gold, honestly, even though it’s basically a rock. But it’s really something more than that.
